For this week’s recipe, I’m bringing you a traditional dessert recipe from my country, the Dominican Republic, called Arepa Dulce De Maiz (Cornmeal Coconut Cake) but with some Fall vibes. What is Dominican Arepa? This dessert is a moist, dense and sweet cornmeal cake made with coconut milk, whole milk, cinnamon, butter and raisins, but I’m taking this traditional Dominican arepa to the next level with the addition of Fall flavors like brown butter, pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice mix.
