Hey Friends. For this week’s recipe, I’m bringing you a traditional dessert recipe from my country, the Dominican Republic, called Arepa Dulce De Maiz (Cornmeal Coconut Cake) but with some Fall vibes. What is Dominican Arepa? This dessert is a moist, dense and sweet cornmeal cake made with coconut milk, whole milk, cinnamon, butter and raisins, but I’m taking this traditional Dominican arepa to the next level with the addition of Fall flavors like brown butter, pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice mix. I’m also going with a suggestion from my mother by using a combination of whole milk and evaporated milk along with the coconut milk. Check it out.

Then we add mascarpone cheese, pumpkin puree, and top with crispy Oyster mushrooms or crumble pancetta, and at the end, season with smoked paprika sea salt. This is a perfect quick Fall weeknight dinner.
